Ashley N. Kuhlman was raised on a farm outside of Fremont, Nebraska, but was never very good at being a farm girl. After attending the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, she moved to Chicago, Illinois. Though she will always love the country, her heart belongs to the city.

After living in Chicago for several years, she and her partner Eric moved to Los Angeles, California, where she currently lives and writes, enjoying the sunshine and the sea. She still misses Chicago and the season of fall.

The Chinatown Incident, Kuhlman's first collection of poetry, was published in May 2014.
